What is the EU DPP Registry?

The Registry is the EU-level indexing and registration layer for DPPs. It is not a central database containing every detailed passport field.

What the Registry stores

The Commission describes the Registry as a secure database holding unique identifiers, registration data and high-level metadata, with additional information possible where specific legislation requires it.

Where detailed passport information lives

The DPP architecture is decentralised. The detailed product data remains under the responsibility of the relevant economic operator and may be hosted directly or through a DPP service provider.

Operational status

The DPP Registry became operational on 20 July 2026. Economic operators can enrol, use the Registry interface or API as applicable and access the current User Guide through the Commission resources page.

Why this matters for preparation

A business still needs a controlled product dataset before registration. Registry readiness does not resolve missing source evidence, unclear supplier data or unowned lifecycle updates.
