Legal basis: Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 · Article 77 and Annex XIII.
The Regulation distinguishes between information relating to the battery model and information specific to the individual battery. It also provides different access levels for public information, authorities/notified bodies and parties with a legitimate interest.
Information common to a battery model needs a controlled source and consistent structure across the relevant product family.
Certain information is specific to the individual battery, including data resulting from use where applicable under the Regulation.
Not all data has the same audience. Preparation needs to preserve both source traceability and the intended access context.
Start with one model. We identify the documentation you already have, structure the usable data and separate evidence-backed fields from missing or unclear information.
The European Commission also publishes a current “Digital Batteries Passport — data point by category” resource and recommends checking for updated versions. EU resources & documentation.
